Tūranganui–a-Kiwa is under siege, vandalism and littering are going unchecked and scooter kids are running the streets. One Rangatahi has had enough, becoming vigilante crime fighter, Pūkeko Man.

With sidekick (and social media filmmaker) Camera-Man on his team, the series follows Pūkeko Man as he tackles the big local issues, fly-tipping, facebook marketplace scams and the deadly slash conspiracy.

CAST & CREW

Pūkeko-Man is created and produced by the team at Rāngai, with the support of professional mentors provided by Target3D. We are building the foundations of workforce to enter The Maori-Verse and explore Māori stories in our contemporary approach.

THE PŪKEKO-MAN (teaser)

As production progressed through test footage, character design and writing, we continued to focus on crew development .  Filming evenings, reviewing, then implementing changes to improve before the next shoot.

We're proud of where the project is and hope you enjoy our current teaser.

PŪKEKO-MAN BEGINS

The test footage for Pūkeko-Man was created as an  Independent Creative Experiment. Each Friday our teaching staff, senior crew, and students, volunteer their time to support projects lead by our aspiring Directors and Producers. We call these ICE Friday, and the first step is to create a pitch video and attract the support of the team.
