STAR

STAR courses are short taster-style classes that help students to explore career options and make informed decisions about their future schooling, work or study. Courses take place over one to nine weeks and are only a few days in total.

 

Designed for students who are currently engaged in creative studies and have some experience with video creation

Trades Academy

Trades Academy students attend Rāngai one day a week over several terms and gain NCEA credits. The learning takes place in a practical and hands-on environment using industry-standard equipment and technology relevant to their chosen career path. Students develop the foundation skills needed to progress to further study opportunities or move directly into employment.

Designed for secondary school students studying towards NCEA Level 1 or 2. Students should have a genuine interest in a particular vocational pathway.

Taster Days

Our taster day workshops are designed for school students, usually in year 12, to get an insight into studying a Screen Arts subjects at Rāngai. These one day or half day courses are designed to provide prospective students with a glimpse of university life, learn more about the course through various activities and meet the teaching staff.
